Get to Know Our Non-Profit Partners: Ronald McDonald House New York
We are thrilled to be working with the Ronald McDonald House in New York (RMHNY)! RMHNY offers support and care to pediatric cancer patients and fosters a nurturing environment for parent-to-parent and child-to-child support and development systems. Since its founding in 1979, RMHNY has provided temporary lodging and care to more than 59,000 families whose children are battling cancer. To further contribute to its loving environment, RMHNY hosts wellness programs, tutors, music, art, transportation, activities for siblings, holiday and birthday parties, and camaraderie. RMHNY relies on support from the local community and corporate partners to continue its awesome programming.
Several studies have shown the power of flowers for hospital patients. For instance, flowers can purify the air of toxins and reduce symptoms that these toxins may cause. Additionally, flowers can brighten up the RMHNY or patients’ hospital rooms, improving overall mood and morale. Even more so, flowers can promote healing: high levels of stress can lead to intense physical repercussions, including slowing the healing process. Many doctors and health professionals have identified plants as enabling patients to leave the hospital sooner.
At ReVased, we feel so lucky to contribute to RMHNY’s mission of providing a caring, loving environment by brightening up the rooms and lives of patients and their families through the upcycling of flowers.
